At The Ruth Initiative, we are dedicated to building and supporting a sustainable orphanage in the heart of Uganda called ARK OF LIFE Ministries. Together with Ark of Life, we will help provide vulnerable children with shelter, education, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue, restore, and rebuild lives, giving every Ugandan child the chance to grow up in a nurturing and empowering environment. We are committed to supporting children who have been rescued from trafficking, or orphaned and abandoned, helping them grow into healthy, educated, and confident individuals. Through our donor partnership program, each supporter is paired with a child providing the resources they need for shelter, education, medical care, and emotional healing. Together, we are creating a community of hope - ONE CHILD, ONE SPONSOR, ONE FUTURE AT A TIME.

Our Current Project
Phase 1: Securing the Land
We are currently raising funds to secure land where Ark of Life Ministries will be constructed. The site has been strategically chosen along a major thoroughfare, ensuring reliable transport, safe ingress/egress, and access to water and electricity. This location also encourages community involvement, helping the orphanage become a hub of true and lasting hope for the region.
Phase 2: Building the Facilities
Once the land purchase is complete, fundraising will focus on building the facilities. The orphanage will include:
- Comfortable dormitory style rooms
- Commercial kitchen
- Learning centers and library
- Community garden and playground
- Vocational training areas
Phase 3: Opening Our Doors
Once construction is complete, qualified professionals will be hired to care for and educate the children. Children will be brought in through rescue and community referrals, and monthly donations from supporters will sustain the child they sponsor.
